The Home Insurance Building, built in 1885 in Chicago by engineer William LeBaron Jenney, is considered as the world's first skyscraper. It was only 55 meters high. But as time passes, with improving technology, engineering, new inventions in material science, human proceed to build higher and higher skyscrapers.

For nearly half a century, from 1931 to 1972, the title of the tallest building in the world was held by the Empire State Building. But currently, The Empire State Building doesn't even crack the top 40. Currently, The title of world's tallest building is held by the Burj Khalifa, which is 2,716 m high. Every year, Asia (specially china) and the Middle East are building more and more skyscrapers. Eight of the top 15 tallest buildings are in China. Only one spot is claimed by US skyscraper.

10. Taipei 101 :-

The Taipei 101 formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center.
The building was regarded as the world's tallest from its opening in 2004 until the 2009. The building is situated in Xinyi District, Taipei. Taipei 101 is owned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation. Building is 1,667 square feet high. Taipei 101 comprises 101 floors above ground, as well as five basement levels. The tower houses offices and restaurants as well as both indoor and outdoor observatories and multilevel shopping mall. It had took

Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre is also known as East Tower.
The building is the tallest completed building in Guangzhou. The building is situated in Tianhe District, Guangzhou.
Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre is owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Building is 1,982 
square feet high. Guangzhou Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre comprises 111 floors above ground, as well as five basement levels. The tower houses  a shopping mall, offices, apartments, and a hotel. It had took US$1.5 billion
to complete construction.
